HI FRIENDS,

HI FRIENDS,

What is Harvest & Home?

getting to know the inner workings & desires of my heart — a daily striving that will never truly successfully reach permanence, but enjoying the journey nevertheless.

I was born and raised in northwest Indiana, I am 29 years old, married to my high-school sweetheart, a mother, and a homemaker.

my ideas of homemaking and motherhood have vastly shifted from what social media likes to view it as, into something that’s far more meaningful, intentional, and personal to each of us. I like to highlight vulnerability but encourage relatability. you’ll often find seemingly insignificant, daily life things highlighted - as these pages are very much inspired by romanticizing life because that’s a happy place I like to reside. my goal is to bring intentional perspective and simple joys to those in passing & remind those visitors that being a homemaker is tangible, free, and uniquely beautiful in our own story. I’ll often link my favorite things, or create a hub with links for ease, but those things are never meant to persuade thoughts of inadequacy or covetousness, but simply as a resource to those who are already, and specifically inquiring on those things.

so while there will be links available, I hope you don’t miss the point of my being here. to offer any ounce of perspective the Lord has mindfully given me, to allow creative space to land, and to create a home with more meaning and more intention on what I bring into it.

things you can expect to hear about & see around here: sourdough, coffee, DIYs, daily captures, a collection of all things beautiful and useful, a mother’s heart, recipes, fun little things, vulnerable musings, and whatever else makes its way to the pages.

thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here & supporting anything I have to offer. As a current stay-at-home mama, it means the world to my family & i hope that you are left with a little bit of happy when you leave :)

I am Emily, the creator of Harvest & Home — but the heart behind this space and why it was created goes beyond myself and seeps deep within the hearts of those i’m blessed enough to share life with.

Jake is my Husband. We have been married for 6 years, but have known each other since we were preteens in a very small *at the time* youth group. We spent a lot of those years passing eachother by, not really truly knowing one another up until 16 and 17 hit. We dated for a few months but our timing was pretty off — We reconnected 4 years later during the summer while i was away at a camp working as a summer missionary. Long story short, our timing was finally right and the rest is history!

I just thought about it and we’ve been together as a couple for 10 years and that’s just mind-blowing to me!

We dated for 4 years, got married 10 months after that about 1.5 yrs into our marriage we were surprised to see two pink lines that changed our lives forever.

While not planned, becoming a Mother to Rehn Harvest has been the most life-giving four years of my life and now that we are expecting baby number 2 within the next couple of months(april 2024) I am eager to see how life will look in this next season.

Our little family wouldn’t be complete without our two fur-babies

Finn - our shelter granpa black lab mix

&

Tucker - our sweet english golden who is only 9 months older than Rehn
